Badges

Badges are a kind of 'digital reward system'. Badges can be collected as a kind of digital evidence for achievements, and they can be added to open collections, like for example the 'Mozilla Backpack', or added to personal websites.

Moodle offers a framework for issuing badges:

Site level badges:

  • Finishing a course or a set of courses with a minimum grade or by a certain date.

  • Completing a number of fields in the user account profile

  • Issued manually by a specific role (for example 'Module Leader')

Course level badges:

  • Finishing the course

  • Completing an activity

  • Or manually issued by a role

Badges can be set up and managed via the Administration block. You start with Add a new badge
