Position Overview:

The Preschool Instructor at our Pediatric Movement Gym will provide hands-on support to children from newborn to 18 years old of all abilities. This role involves developing and implementing curriculum, engaging children in movement-based activities, and collaborating with other instructors and therapists to ensure effective and enjoyable learning experiences. The instructor will work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the overall physical and developmental growth of the children.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Direct Client Support:

   • Provide hands-on assistance to children during movement and play activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.

   • Engage children in exercises and activities tailored to their individual needs and abilities.

2. Curriculum Development and Implementation:

   • Collaborate with other instructors to develop and implement movement-based curriculum and activities.

   • Adapt activities to suit the varying abilities and developmental stages of the children.

   • Evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and make necessary adjustments to enhance learning outcomes.

3. Activity Preparation:

   • Prepare and organize materials and equipment needed for movement sessions.

   • Ensure activity areas are clean, safe, and conducive to effective learning and play.

4. Administrative Duties:

   • Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding their child's progress and upcoming activities.

5. Operational Functions:

   • Maintain inventory of activity supplies and equipment.

   • Coordinate with other gym staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

   • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of gym procedures.

Your Career Coach or Counselor will submit your completed application to Siona Escoto, Apprenticeship Coordinator at EscotSio@wcps.k12.md.us with the team email, Apprenticeship@wcps.k12.md.us cc’d.
