Position Overview:

Provides clerical, secretarial, registration, and collection activities in the corresponding office to ensure the prompt and efficient care of patients to meet the goals and objectives of the practice. Provides patient registry services for all assigned areas. Determines and, as required, makes changes to patient demographic and insurance information. Reviews requests and/or insurance requirements for completeness and requests physician signatures when necessary. Provides appointment services for all areas. Ensures patient exam(s) ordered information is accurate and complete. Determines if exam preparation is required and informs the patient accordingly. 


Responsibilities:

1. Answers client/patient written and telephone inquiries. Employee expected to differentiate urgent messages from non-urgent messages.

2. Accurately schedules patient/clients appointments. 

3. Verifies all insurances and writes information in files within set time of initial appointment. Ensures accurate entry of all insurance information into computer.

4. Consistently addresses patients' questions and concerns to the patients' satisfaction but, if unable to answer, refers to appropriate personnel.

5. Consistently keeps patients abreast of physician/appointment activity with regard to appointment delay and cancellation, especially when patient checks in.

6. Maintains confidentiality of client information and business unit information at all times

7. Regularly maintains office environment and equipment in a neat and orderly manner; assists in the cleaning of

the business unit and notifies appropriate personnel of malfunctioning equipment or environment conditions.

8. Other jobs as necessary.  Other duties can include scanning, sorting and distributing mail and faxes, and preparing encounter forms.

Your Career Coach will submit your completed application to Siona Escoto, Apprenticeship Coordinator at EscotSio@wcps.k12.md.us with the team email, Apprenticeship@wcps.k12.md.us cc’d.
