CARPENTER APPRENTICE
The Carpentry Apprentice will work alongside an experienced carpenter, assisting with all duties while training to gain a better understanding of the trade.
This occupation involves performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks both in and outdoors. Some specified work required includes the use of all wood-working tools in the construction and repair of structures or articles of carpentry such as:
Description:
Help maintain an orderly and safe site.
Learn about and work toward the aesthetic, performance, scheduling, and budget goals of a project.
Act as a reliable, capable, and supportive member of the crew.
Learn communication skills to coordinate with other workers, such as electricians or construction managers.
Assist in the hanging of doors, installing door frames, and all related door hardware.
Assist in the laying of flooring and installing related base; installing trim and finish work, constructing and installing cabinets and shelving.
Assist carpenters in erecting wood and metal partition framing, including hanging, and finishing drywall and related painting.
Assist in the installation of windows, frames, glass, glazing, and related hardware.
Assist in the construction of steps and handicap ramps.
Assembling of equipment, using simple hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
Disassembly of structures or equipment.
Performing general clean-up work in and outdoors using hand and machine tools.
Ability to do simple routine maintenance on machines used for woodworking and other mechanical equipment involved in the performance of the position.
Performing a variety of related miscellaneous tasks.
Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
Other duties as may be assigned.

Carpentry, Construction Design & Management, Power Mechanics, CASE Ag Engineering
Hours:
M-F, 7 AM - 3:30 PM - Flexible, Availability in the morning preferred.

More Information:
Apprentice will be required to wear proper PPE including hard hat, vest, and safety glasses.
