Position Overview:
Provide care for Independent, Assisted Living, and Bowman Center residents according to their needs. The unit helper is not a Geriatric or Certified Nursing Assistant and is limited in what their job duties consist of. This person is required to have good communication skills and be able to relate well to the residents, families, visitors, and co-workers.
Responsibilities:
Check residents and their rooms to ensure the safety of residents and the environment are comfortable.
Answer call bells; if unable to assist the resident in their need, immediately notify the proper nursing personnel.
Care is to be provided in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with facility policy and procedures, according to the resident's level of care and needs, and within the Unit Helper's scope of practice.
Obtain vital signs and weights as required. Change bed linens per facility schedule in occupied and unoccupied rooms.
Organization will assist with teaching standards of care, scope of practice in nursing care, and prioritizing needs of residents.
Other duties may be assigned.

5. Submit Your Application: Hand in your completed application, cover letter, and resume to your Career Coach. Your Career Coach will submit your completed application to Siona Escoto, Apprenticeship Coordinator at EscotSio@wcps.k12.md.us with the team email, Apprenticeship@wcps.k12.md.us cc’d.
