ENTRY LEVEL MACHINIST APPRENTICE
Job Description:
Notifies the shop manager of any suspected drawing and/or documentation discrepancies discovered during his/her initial inspection of the customer drawing.
Machines parts according to the dimensional and/or surface finish requirements specified by the customer drawing.
After machining, inspects parts to confirm conformance to drawing dimensional and surface finish requirements.
Perform various shop duties as needed (washing parts, sweeping)
Preferred Skills/Strengths:
Ability to read measurement equipment (calipers, gauges, micrometer.)
Ability to use basic hand tools (screwdrivers, grinders, etc.)
Ability to set-up machining centers and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other documents necessary to perform the job.
Physical ability to perform various shop related tasks, including prolonged periods of standing and ability to lift 40 pounds.
Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to different tasks
Must be self-motivated and able to pay attention to detail

Hours:
Flexible schedule. Must be able to work within normal business hours, 8 am - 4:30 pm.
