As an apprentice, you’ll get hands-on experience supporting everything from hardware and software troubleshooting to network maintenance and user support. You’ll work alongside seasoned IT professionals who are as passionate about mentoring as they are about keeping systems running smoothly.

Position Overview:
Provide front-line support to both the Telecom and Desktop Support areas within the IT department. Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Technical Support Services, this role will perform installation, service, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and administrative maintenance for telecommunications and desktop systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete all service, installation, and MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) orders within the timeframes specified by service level agreements. Contact the appropriate vendor when issues cannot be resolved on-site. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining phones, pagers, desktop and laptop PCs, and peripherals such as headsets. Troubleshoot and repair/replace hardware and resolve basic network connectivity issues.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date call accounting/reporting systems. Generate and deliver individual reports to requesting managers and submit monthly reports to Finance for billing purposes.
Assist with recordkeeping across various databases, including but not limited to: Alcatel OmniVista, Call Accounting/Reporting System (ISI), OpenText/AVST Voicemail, SPOK, ALE Rainbow, and ZBASE.
Support the installation of new sites by making recommendations to the manager and providing periodic reports, either on a recurring basis or when significant changes occur.
Respond to initial telephone, email, or service desk inquiries. Troubleshoot and resolve straightforward hardware, software, or network issues that can be addressed within fifteen minutes or less.
Collaborate with other support staff to resolve issues and fulfill service requests. Develop a broad base of technical skills while maintaining strong interpersonal communication.
Contribute to assigned projects by tracking progress and reporting updates to the manager as needed.
