DISCUSSION
A. What are the events, practices, and culture that were brought by the early traders in our country?
The Chinese brought their customs and practices of respect for elders, arranged marriage, wearing of white clothes in mourning for the dead, and the use of fireworks in various festivals. They influence also our taste for eating Chinese food. Thus, our practices of food preparation and cooking are also affected. The use of earthen pan and pot, iron and aluminum kettle were introduced. Filipinos learned the art of pot making to improve the quality of food.
Jars were also made by ancient Filipinos as the burial container of their dead. The famous Manunggul jar in Palawan is a proof of the ancient Filipinos’ refined craftsmanship in jar making.
You just don’t realize at first that he looks wider than his actual body size simply because he wears a T-shirt that has thick horizontal lines. Or when you see a picture of the San Juanico Bridge in Samar and Leyte, you may readily confirm that the columns of the railings and under posts of the bridge are really strong. This shows that your vision of the lines affect your judgments on the way things are.
Sometimes, you tend to think that there is really a line around a table or a chair on which you look at. Your imagination of the line is called an outline. Your vision tries to separate the chair from its space background; that is why the line comes up in your mind. Hard-edged things suggest lines.
How is drawing done to show an illusion of depth?
To make drawings on paper appear three-dimensional and not flat, shading is needed. There are three main parts of the subject to be drawn that can be shaded. These are called the highlight, tone, and cast shadow parts. To be able to decide on which area to shade, the direction of the light source should be determined first. The area on which the reflected light is the brightest is the highlight part. Tone (mid tone and dark tone) is the name for the shaded area. The dark area or shadow of the object of the drawing is called the cast shadow.
There are different types of shading techniques. These are hatching, cross-hatching, smudging, and pointillism.
How does an artist draw space?
Remember that lines or shapes that are drawn bigger appear closer to the viewer. On the other hand, lines or shapes that are drawn smaller look far from the viewer.
The vanishing point is a point where the four parallel lines (three train railways) appear to converge). Look at the direction at the top where the four parallel lines appear to meet,it is the vanishing point.
When you look at train tracks that stretch far into the distance, the tracks look like they were coming together in the distance. So, use lines that come together to get a sense of distance.
How is an illusion of space in three-dimensional drawings created?
The artist must draw the appropriate portion of the subject and its background. Enough tonal values must be applied. Lastly, the shadow cast by the subject must be drawn and
emphasized.

REAL LIFE APPLICATION
The children will watch online videos that show techniques in 3-D drawing. Study the various shading techniques like hatching, cross-hatching, smudging, and pointillism and they will draw an image following the various techniques in 3- D drawing.
EVALUATION
The children will answer the activity after the discussion.
