The biggest obstacle in the way of dismantling racism in a governmental institution is that it is invisible.
The first area of focus in my systematic approach is self-awareness and individual wellness.
We need to be aware of what we are doing in order to:
(1) be aware of others' experiences and
(2) change our behaviors.
It is paramount to foster a positive learning environment through all of this.
We need to learn empathy in our dynamic world.
