Bicycle

Here is my personal history with bikes in order of acquisition:

1992, KHS road bike, my very first. Road bikes with my dad in the countryside, starting riding to school. Retired this bike in 1998 when I moved for college, same with my Rockhopper

1992, Specialized Rockhopper, my first mountain bike. Shredded gravel trails until my buddies took my mountain biking for real in high school and fell in love with it. Retired this bike in 1998 when I moved for college.

1994 Bianchi Trofeo. THIS. The love of my life. This bike was stolen from me. TWICE. My dad originally purchased this bike for me to store at our cousin's house in Massachusettes, where we frequeted for summer vacations. When I was in school in Maine, my cousins sold their house in 2011, and we cleared out our bikes and assorted tools. I used the bike for years and then when I started commuting for a winter job, it was stolen from a bus station in Salt Lake City in 2018. And then, 6 months later, I FOUND IT for sale at a recycled cycles shop. I purchased the bike for the cost of repairs. And then I rode it to a physical therapy appointment and had forgotten my lock. My PT had footage of the kid stealing the bike but I never got it back.

1998, Raleigh M-80, had this bike for 3 months when it was stolen off the roof of my car the first day I was in a new town for my college tenure.

1998, Trek Fuel Ex-8. Ripped on this bike until it was stolen off my porch in Ft. Collins in 2004

2001 Trek 1400. Found online and used it for a commuter until 2008. My dad has this one as a spare at his house.

2008, Trek 2.1. As I drooled over the new Madone, I settled for a 2.1 and rode the heck out of it. I sold it at the end of the season because I needed money for a new apartment.

2008, Green Beech Cruiser. I have no idea the brand and got it free from a friend. I rode it all around campus until I moved in 2011.

2012, Santa Cruz something 26". I had this bike for about ten years and gave it to my partner to use in 2018. We sold it when he upgraded to a Trek Fuel Ex-8 27.5"

2018, Santa Cruz Blur. I had this bike for 8 weeks and it was stolen from a restaurant in Salt Lake City.

2014, Novara (REI) Buzz commuter. I spent 3 hours putting on fenders and rode it through two bottom brackets, commuting on salty roads. Donated in 2019 when I moved

2016, Two cruisers to loan out for urban bike rides, Donated in 2019 when I moved

2015, Nishiki frankenstein single-speed with a flip-flop hub. Retired to trainer in 2019 when I move to the foothills

2017, Felt F-70. Super-quick, fun commuter. Sold in 2019 to get a gravel bike

2017, Pinerello FP2 - my first fast road bike I had in a while. My legs killed me for a week after riding it the first time. I cruised up a canyon road on my first oval ring, initially being confused as to why the pedaling felt so different. Sold in 2019 to get a gravel bike

2021, Tern GSD - electric cargo bike, got as a demo when managing

2021 Specialized Shiv - triathlon bike, got as a demo when managing

2021, Norco Revolver - mtb got as a demo when managing, first mountain bike I had in 5 years

 I have a long track record of superb and diligent customer service, several years in policies and procedures, recent experience instructing and working with special needs populations, a passion for social justice, and a Master’s degree in Education.

With ten years experience in STEM and Special Education, four years in management, and five years in healthcare, I have an extensive background in advocacy, customer service, problem-solving, and team-building. 

I am a strong, kind, inclusive, and patient leader, in which I facilitate a work environment of honesty, collaboration, and trust that values diplomacy, courage, growth, and good work ethic. While I have both the technical and soft skills of an ideal candidate, what sets me apart are my passions for training and education, equity, and improving quality of life for both staff and clients.
