“Your job as a leader is to gain perspective by asking questions so that greater opportunities can be created” ~ David Bator, Managing Director, Achievers
A strong component of my programming and management is advocacy.
Here are some highlighted examples:
When employees could not attend a training session, I created a fun but educational online quiz in order to assess how much they understood from the recorded video.
I helped to improve a staff member’s work ethic by discretely identifying his learning disability and adjusting his assigned tasks so that he was still productive, alleviating other employee concerns.
I assisted a colleague with 30 food orders by grabbing supplies from the walk-in cooler, after saying that we would redo the staffing schedule. When I returned, he had transformed his drooped head, eyelids half-closed, and arms hung at his sides to quick steps, rolled up sleeves, and a big smile.
As a store manager, I built strong relationships with the surrounding community, such as with the remodel for a gym next door.
