Solution Sketches
What
Solution Sketches are a component of the divergent ideation stage in Google Ventures' Design Sprint. The solution sketch uses three panels on (usually) a blank 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheet of paper (in portrait mode, not landscape).
You can think about the three panels in the sketch as a comic strip in which the customer experiences the problem; explores and discovers your solution; and enjoys / realizes the benefits of your solution (problem solved!). I made a short presentation of these steps with examples (see also same slides below). Hope they help!
Learning Objectives
Upon completing this module you should be able to:
create a solution sketch depicting a customer experiencing the "big pain" or similar situation you hope to solve; the customer discovering your solution; and your customer enjoying the benefits of the value proposition that delivers your solution
facilitate a solution sketch session for her or his own new venture group to create multiple ideas for the team to consider
express ideas for customer solutions and value propositions in the form of simple sketches with captions
