TK Elevator Fixtures

(known as ThyssenKrupp prior to February 2021)

Impulse

ThyssenKrupp carried on Dover's Impulse fixtures in the early-mid 2000s, mostly unchanged from the Thyssen Dover era. The blue logo/capacity label was changed to white, but the buttons and panel design remained the same.

Impulse lanterns have a similar shape to the buttons, with arrows printed on their faces. A lantern that hangs over the doorway was used on holeless hydraulic models. Most Impulse installs have an analog indicator made to look like a dot-matrix display, but those taller than 7 floors have an actual dot-matrix LED display.

Aurora

Aurora was ThyssenKrupp's standard fixture for much of the 2000s. Aurora buttons are black circle buttons with red illuminating halos, made by DMG exclusively for ThyssenKrupp. Call buttons usually have triangles on their faces.

Aurora's indicator is similar to that of Impulse, offered either as a dot-matrix LED display (6+ floors) or an analog indicator made to look like a dot-matrix display (2-5 floors). Aurora lanterns are white triangles, that usually light up yellow for up and red for down.

Aurora silver buttons

These are very rare. It's unknown whether these are actual metal or just silver plastic.

Aurora for modernizations

A modified version of Aurora was offered on modernizations prior to MODfusion. This variant essentially amounts to early MODfusion, but with Aurora buttons and a few other cosmetic differences. Only a few examples are known to exist.

Signa4

Signa4 replaced Aurora as ThyssenKrupp's standard fixture in 2008. Its original buttons are similar to Aurora, though they press differently and have blue lights. These buttons were discontinued in 2017, and replaced with MAD Atoll buttons.

Like Aurora, Signa4 was originally offered with a blue analog indicator made to look like a dot-matrix display, or an actual dot-matrix (for more than four floors) that displays numbers in the center of the display. In 2011, when the "grocery beep" chime was introduced, both were replaced with a dot-matrix indicator that displays a scrolling arrow.

Signa4 hall fixtures, indicators, and lanterns have a gray plastic border, curved at the top and bottom. This shape was also used for service cabinets on other ThyssenKrupp fixtures from this era.

California Signa4

This variant incorporates newer Traditional buttons, otherwise it is the same as standard Signa4. It was discontinued in 2018, as the MAD Atoll buttons then used on Signa4 complied with California codes.

Traditional
(older version)

ThyssenKrupp's older Traditional carried over the buttons from Dover's later Traditional fixtures. Door control and alarm buttons have words on their faces.

Like Impulse, older ThyssenKrupp Traditional incorporates an analog indicator made to look like a dot-matrix display. For more than four floors, a proper dot-matrix LED indicator is used. Traditional was offered with triangle or circle lanterns,

Traditional
(newer version)

Newer Traditional's original buttons were similar to Signa4, but with a white face and no halo light. These buttons usually have white lights, but were also offered in red, blue, and green. Like Signa4, these buttons were phased out and replaced with MAD Atoll in 2017, with the same color options.

Newer Traditional originally had the same four-segment "faux LED" indicator as older Traditional, but by 2012 this was replaced by a new red dot-matrix indicator, which displays a arrow. This indicator was updated with a darker red color in 2018, and a blue version was also offered. Some traction elevators with newer Traditional have a larger dot-matrix display.

Older Traditional's triangle lanterns were carried on for Newer Traditional, but with white lights.

Vandal Resistant
(older version)

Older Vandal Resistant carried on Dover's Vandal Resistant buttons, which are similar in appearance to Adams Survivor Plus. These light up with a red or rarely yellow light in the center, and press like Impulse.

Older Vandal Resistant usually uses the same indicators as older Traditional, but is also sometimes seen with an analog indicator (see newer Vandal Resistant below). Older Vandal Resistant lanterns consist of triangles made of black printed lines, with red and green LED lights at their corners.

Vandal Resistant
(newer version)

Newer Vandal Resistant typically incorporates MAD BS Classic pushbuttons, which usually light up blue or white. Some installs use MAD BP Moon buttons instead, which are concave with a light in the center.

Newer Vandal Resistant usually incorporates Newer Traditional LED dot-matrix position indicators, though some Newer Traditional installs have analog indicators consisting of black circles with red LEDs below them. Likewise, newer Vandal Resistant usually has Traditional lanterns, but occasionally has a Vandal Resistant lantern similar to those of older ThyssenKrupp VR.

MODfusion

MODfusion is a fixture used by TK for modernizations, often confused for newer Vandal Resistant. It incorporates MAD BS buttons, Traditional-esque lanterns, and generic sixteen-segment LED indicators.

ISIS I

NOTE: This website is not discussing terrorism and has no connection to any terrorist group. ISIS is simply the name of an elevator model discussed on this page, as a result of a coincidence (and honestly, an unfortunate mistake on the part of ThyssenKrupp, as the terrorist group of the same name did, in fact, exist at the time of this elevator's introduction)

The ThyssenKrupp ISIS elevator's fixture line is believed to officially be a variant of Aurora. ISIS Aurora buttons appear similar to Aurora, but light up blue and press unlike any other ThyssenKrupp fixture. These buttons were mounted on a narrow operating panel next to the elevator's door, with an integrated blue dot-matrix LED indicator.

ISIS 2

The ISIS elevator fixture line was redesigned for the new ISIS 2 elevator in late 2005, more closely resembling Signa4 than its predecessor. The indicator and call stations are practically identical to those of Signa4. The side-mounted panel and door-mounted lanterns were kept for the ISIS II elevator with minor changes.

Studio

Studio is a very rare fixture similar to Signa4. Studio buttons are smaller than Signa4, with a curved silver square border around them.

This fixture line is very rare, with fewer than 20 confirmed installations:
