Important notes about Schindler Haughton

  1. The name is "Schindler Haughton," two words, not "SchindlerHaughton" or "Schindler-Haughton." It appears as two words on all company documents and nameplates, and still the majority of lift enthusiasts mistakenly refer to the brand as "SchindlerHaughton."

  2. Schindler Haughton was founded in 1979, as a result of Schindler's acquisition of Haughton. April 27th, to be exact. This has been confirmed by corporate publications, as well as numerous former Haughton employees. Although some elevators installed after 1979 have "Haughton" badges (some as late as 1984), they are officially Schindler Haughton.

  3. Although Schindler Haughton was only the official name of the company until 1985, the Schindler Haughton brand name was used until 1987, and Schindler Haughton elevators were installed at least until 1988.

  4. There is no such thing as a "Millar Haughton."
