KONE Fixtures
Note
The term "KSS arrow" is used throughout this page in reference to this shape, used by KONE as an arrow on their fixtures.
Series 220
Series 220, often incorrectly called KSS 220, was the first fixture offered by KONE in the United States. Its buttons are black rectangles with red halo lights. Most buttons have a white rectangle in the center, but call buttons have triangles, and some later installs (2004-06) have "DOOR OPEN" and "DOOR CLOSE" printed on their respective buttons.
Series 220 is usually paired with standard red and green Innovation lanterns.
Series 220 was made with three indicators during the KONE era:
The "alarm clock" indicator, a basic red two-digit seven-segment LED display. This indicator was phased out in 2002.
A dot-matrix indicator, usually with two small arrows at the top, was used on most installs starting in mid-2002. After 220's discontinuation, this indicator was continued for modernizations and custom installs with Innovation.
Some examples very early in the KONE era used older Montgomery dot-matrix indicators.

Delta
Delta is a very rare fixture from the early 2000s, made by Innovation exclusively for KONE. Delta buttons are silver with a red LED light at the top. Panel buttons are blank, and call buttons have a black KSS arrow shape printed on their faces.
Delta includes the same dot-matrix indicator as later Series 220 installs, and a custom Innovation lantern shaped like the KSS arrow.
KSS 370
KSS 370 buttons are silver plastic with an orange LED halo that lights up when a call is registered. Call buttons have raised black KSS arrows on them, on surface-mounted silver plastic call stations.
Its car position indicator is vertical and shaped like a lozenge, with an orange dot-matrix display and a KSS arrow. Hall indicators are similar, a horizontal display angled slightly down, with the indicator and lantern side-by-side.
KSS 370 car lanterns are black squares with orange KSS arrow displays. Hall lanterns are silver plastic circles, with displays angled slightly down.
Produced 2004-2011
Rarity Rating: 3/10
KSS 300
KSS 300 is largely same as KSS 370, except with seven-segment displays instead of dot-matrix, the call stations are lozenge-shaped, and the silver plastic on hall lanterns and indicators is replaced with black.
KSS 300 was offered on EcoSpace and hydraulic elevators. There are fewer than 10 confirmed examples, including:
Macy's, The Promenade Shops at Centerra, Loveland, CO
Leigh Square Community Arts, Port Coquitlam, BC
Sone Apartments, Santa Rosa, CA
Lahaina Business Plaza, Maui, HI
Sleep Inn & Suites, Auburn, AL
Produced 2004-07
Rarity Rating: 10/10
KSS 500
KSS 500 was KONE's standard fixture from the mid-2000s to mid-2010s. It has round silver plastic buttons with an orange or white LED halo, and a silver ring around the LED. Call buttons have a white KSS arrow in the center that lights up with the halo.
KSS 500 indicators are orange or white dot-matrix displays. Most of these (2004-2011) have a KSS arrow indicating travel direction, though this was removed for later examples (2011-present).
KSS 500 lanterns are the same KSS arrow display as 370, also in either orange or white. Like KSS 370, hall indicators combine the indicator and lantern arrow into one display, though these can be either vertical or horizontal on 500.
Produced 2004-present
(for modernizations only as ReVive KSS 500 since 2015)
Rarity Rating: 2/10
KSS 600
KSS 600 is largely the same as KSS 500 (though only offered with white lights), with the main difference being the position indicator. The KSS 600 indicator is a negative mode LCD display with a plexiglas cover. Its viewing angle is very narrow, so the white-on-black display can appear black-on-white if viewed from a certain angle.
KSS 600 has flush operating panels and hall fixtures, available in brushed steel or brass. A "barrel" call station, with curved sides, similar in shape to Otis Standard, was offered.

KSS 140
KSS 140 is a vandal resistant fixture produced since the early 2010s. It has round metal buttons with an orange light in the center, metal KSS arrow lanterns, and dot-matrix indicators with a mesh cover on the display.
Early KSS 140 installations have panels with a mesh-like texture and silver button labels with numbers in a boxy font. The label color was changed to black in 2014, and the yellow alarm label was replaced with a white symbol. Newer KSS 140 panels have a more conventional brushed finish, and the labels use the same font as other KONE fixtures.
A raised version with a white light is available exclusively in California to comply with California elevator codes.
KSS 570
KSS 570 is KONE's current standard fixture. Its buttons appear somewhat similar to KSS 500, though made of aluminum, with an orange, white, or blue LED halo. Like KSS 500, KSS 570 has surface-mount hall fixtures, and its call buttons have a KSS arrow in the center that lights up with the halo, though the arrow is flush with the button, not tactile.
KSS 570 indicators are orange, white, or blue LED dot-matrix displays. Messages such as "CALL LOCKED" scroll right to left beneath the number on the display. Hall indicators double as lanterns, displaying scrolling arrows below (vertical indicators) or to the right (horizontal indicators) of the number to indicate the elevator's arrival. Car lanterns are the same as KSS 370 and 500, offered in orange, white, or blue.
KSS 570 indicator with third-party fixtures
KONE began using a modified KSS 570 indicator on modernizations in 2019, paired with either Innovation or MAD buttons.
Design (D20/D40)
The rare KSS Design series includes KSS D20 (pictured) and KSS D40. D20 has a narrow surface mount operating panel, and D40 has a wider, full height panel. This panel has an integrated dot-matrix display, which shows a scrolling arrow as the elevator moves.
KSS Design is extremely rare in North America, with fewer than twenty confirmed installations, including:
The Palladium, Richmond, TX
H&M, Scottsdale Fashion Square, Scottsdale, AZ
H&M, Domain Mall, Austin, TX
H&M, Town East Mall, Mesquite, TX
Westfield Garden State Plaza, Paramus, NJ
The Dawson, Chicago, IL
The Power Plant, St. Louis, MO
West Edmonton Mall, Edmonton, AB
Sport Chek, West Edmonton Mall, Edmonton, AB
Saks Fifth Avenue, The Mall at University Town Center, Sarasota, FL
Rarity Rating: 9/10
KSS 970
KSS 970 buttons are flush with their panels, and have their floor numbers illuminated on their faces. The only installation on land in North America was custom-made for Trump Tower in Chicago, but it was also offered by KONE Marine, and as such can be found on Disney cruise ships.
Third party fixtures
Innovation
KONE uses Innovation fixtures for modernizations, and occasionally for new installs. They have been known mostly to use Universal and Bruiser, and occasionally Prestige or Security.
Innovation fixtures are paired either with Series 220 indicators and chimes, or generic LED indicators. Some KONE elevators with Innovation talk.
