SCHINDLER
3300

Overview

The 3300 is Schindler's low-rise MRL traction elevator model.

It uses Schindler's "Suspension Traction Media' (STM) belts instead of traditional ropes. Schindler claims these belts have a longer lifespan than cables, and allow for a smaller motor in the hoistway.

Characteristics

3300s do not level quickly or accurately.

3300s almost always have jamb-mounted call stations.

3300s have unique cab designs. All 3300s have two curved light fixtures at the sides of their ceilings. They usually have distinctive curved handrails, however, newer installs can have flat rectangular handrails.

3300s cannot be glass.

California version

The standard 3300 is not compliant with California codes, so Schindler makes a modified version especially for California. This version has different fixtures, as well as a few other mechanical and structural changes. California installations continued to use FI GL 100 operating panels (with FI GS hall fixtures) until mid-2020.
