MAD Fixtures

MAD is a Canadian-based subsidiary of Italian elevator part manufacturer DMG.

BS

BS is MAD's most common fixture in North America. It consists of a metal buttons with a lighted halo. There are three types of BS buttons:

  • Classic - convex

  • Moon - concave

  • California - flat

In the United States, MAD BS is most commonly found on ThyssenKrupp elevators (Classic) and Schindler modernizations (Moon). It is far more common on generic elevators in Canada. It is also used by KONE and Fujitec.

BP

BP is a fixture similar to BS, consisting of a metal button with a small light in the center. Like BS, it comes in two variants, Classic (convex) and Moon (concave). BP is rare in the United States, most commonly found in Moon form on ThyssenKrupp elevators.

Atoll

Atoll is a white plastic button with a silver halo. It is most commonly seen as part of ThyssenKrupp fixtures.

Dune

Dune (aka BN) is a very rare MAD fixture. It consists of a curved, square-shaped metal button with a lighted halo. There are very few known installations in North America, including:

  • Centennial Lakes Medical Center, Edina, MN

  • 650 Castro Street, Mountain View, CA

  • Sheraton Gateway Hotel, Toronto Pearson Int'l Airport, Toronto, ON

  • The Inn at Laurel Point, Victoria, BC

  • 850 West Hastings, Vancouver, BC

  • North York Medical Arts Building, North York, ON
