TK Elevator is an American manufacturer of elevators and escalators. It was formerly the elevator and escalator division of ThyssenKrupp, an industrial conglomerate based in Germany. ThyssenKrupp was formed in 2001 by the merger of Thyssen and Krupp. Thyssen had previously been a maker of elevators, and entered the North American market with their acquisitions of Northern Elevator, US Elevator, and Dover Elevator, in 1983, 1993, and 1999 respectively. TK Elevator is the world's third-largest maker of elevators and escalators, and its American division is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
The company was separated from ThyssenKrupp in February 2021, and is now owned by a consortium of private equity firms Advent, Cinven, and RAG Foundation.
