Schindler Fixtures

MT

MT was Schindler's standard fixture for much of the 1990s and 2000s, with white square buttons with red bar-shaped lights on top. It is paired with a red LED indicator with an arrow, though there are two different versions - one used for the 300A and 700A, and another for the 500A.

Produced 1995-2005

Long Bar MT

'Long bar' MT is the original version of MT, produced in the early 1990s and very rare today. The buttons are slightly different than regular MT, with a wider red light, and they press differently. The lanterns and indicators are the same, though long bar installs usually have a different emergency light.

RT

RT (also known by its Adams name, PEP) consists of an illuminating white round Adams button, usually with a wraparound braille. Call buttons have triangles printed on their faces.

RT was offered on all the same models as MT. Most RT installs from the Schindler era have the MT digital indicator, though a few have the Westinghouse-like analog indicator.

HT

HT is the standard fixture line for Schindler's 321A, 330A, and 400A models, and one of the most common fixtures in the United States. Its buttons are white plastic squares that light up red, arranged on a 2-button-wide (321A/330A) or 4-button-wide (400A) surface-mount panel. Call buttons are similar, but shaped like rounded triangles.

HT lanterns have a shape similar to the call stations, with large triangles that light up red. The car indicator has a red LED display at the top, and an integrated emergency light, service cabinet, and capacity label. Hall indicators are shaped like the hall stations (though horizontal), and are sometimes used as car indicators on elevators with two panels.

HT Chimes

The standard-pitched HT chimes are the most common, installed on all 330As since 2004, and added on to most older 330As and 321As.

A lower-pitched version was used on 321As and 330As from 1999-2004. Most elevators that had these chimes now have the standard chimes, so the low-pitched chimes are very rare.

There is also an even lower-piched version, only found on very early 321As. Only one example of these is known to exist, a 321A located at Macy's Furniture Gallery in Carle Place, New York.

400As feature a higher-pitched floor passing chime, and have the standard HT chimes for directional chimes.

Numerous changes have been made to HT over its 24-year production run. See the
Evolution of the 330A page for more information.

HT Vandal Resistant

This fixture line was offered as a vandal resistant alternative to HT on the 330A and 400A. Its buttons are modified EPCO Survivor Plus-CA with red lights, arranged in the same panel layout as regular HT - 2 buttons wide for 330A, 4 buttons wide for 400A. Its indicator is the same display as HT, though on its own on the panel, instead of attached to the service cabinet.

FI GL 100

FI GL 100 was used on older 3300s in the early-to-mid 2010s. It consists of a tall surface-mount operating panel with white frosted glass on the front, white rectangular buttons that light up red, and a 7-segment LED indicator. FI GL lanterns continue the frosted glass design, as do the call stations, which have silver square buttons and bear the Schindler logo. Hall fixtures are almost always jamb-mounted, frequently causing two-car banks to have a call button on both elevators.

Older FI GS panels have a Schindler logo made to look three-dimensional, backlit on the car indicator. In mid-2015, this was changed to a 2D gray logo, still keeping the Schindler text below backlit. The floor passing chimes were changed in 2016.

California FI GL 100

Schindler's older California 3300s featured a modified version of FI GL 100. This variant has white call buttons and different lanterns, but the operating panel remains the same. California 3300s used FI GL 100 operating panels until mid-2020, when it was fully replaced with the California variant of FI GS.

FI GS

FI GS is currently the standard fixture for the 3300 (replacing FI GL 100 in late 2017), 3100, and 3300 XL. FI GS has silver square buttons with LED halos, which light up white when not activated, and red when a call is registered.

The surface-mount FI GS panel has an integrated dot-matrix LED indicator, similar to the FI GL 100 indicator. Its car lanterns are also similar to FI GL 100. Hall indicators are dot-matrix LED displays, which double as lanterns, displaying an arrow when the elevator arrives.

FI GS is often confused with Linea 100, a very similar fixture used on 5500.

California FI GS

Schindler introduced a new California code compliant variant of FI GS in mid-2020. The buttons are white and concave (similar in shape to Dover Impulse), and, like California FI GL 100, this variant has different lanterns from regular FI GS.

Linea 100

Linea 100 is very similar to FI GS, with the same buttons and car lanterns. Differences include wider flush-mounted operating panels (as opposed to FI GL's surface-mounted panel), larger and higher resolution dot-matrix displays, horizontal hall indicators, and different capacity labels. Linea 100 has only been used on 5500 in the US and Canada.

A very rare variant of Linea 100 uses this LCD indicator instead of the usual red dot-matrix.

This is a variant of Linea 100 used with PORT destination dispatch. It can have any PORT hall station, and has standard Linea 100 fixtures inside, minus floor buttons.

5500 w/EPCO

In the late 2010s, the 5500 was offered with EPCO fixtures and a generic indicator. The most common setup of this type is vandal-resistant EPCO Survivor Plus-CA buttons (similar to HT Vandal Resistant), but other installs use Singapore and other EPCO fixtures.

"5500 Vandal Resistant"

The newer 5500 vandal resistant fixtures have a narrow version of the Linea 100 indicator, and EPCO Endurance buttons. These fixtures are currently offered on the 3300 XL as well as the 5500.
