EVOLUTION OF THE
Schindler 330A

Schindler's 330A is one of the most common elevators in North America.
It has been produced for nearly twenty years, and has had a few minor changes over time.
A few small cosmetic differences can be used to tell the relative age of a 330A.

2001-2006

The earliest 330As with HT have the older Schindler logo next to the position indicator (fig. A). 330As with VR from this time period have the older logo etched into the service cabinet (fig. B).

All 330As from this period have a chrome Schindler logo on the operating panel (fig. D) and a Schindler plate in the door track (fig. C).

2001-2004 330As originally had the "low pitched" chimes. The vast majority of these have had their chimes replaced with the standard 2004-present chimes.

2007-2010

2007 saw the removal of the older three-red-line Schindler logo (fig. D) and the door track logo (fig. E).

2010-2014

The 2010 revision includes a redesigned operating panel, with the panel having a slightly different appearance (fig. F, G, H). The chrome logo was removed from HT VR panels, but retained on standard HT panels.

2014-present

The 2014 redesign reverted to the old panel design (fig. J), and removed all remaining Schindler logos from the cab.

Midway through 2014, a newer capacity label (fig. K) was introduced, this label was installed on all 330As from 2015 onward.

A different capacity label (fig. L) was introduced in 2015 for HT VR, and is now stuck onto the panel instead of engraving the capacity.
