Montgomery's older escalators have the "Globe & Parallelogram" logo and a distinctive plate pattern. These have been made since the mid-1960s, and were produced until 1982. The sound of these running is very distinctive. Due to the logo these are often referred to as "G&P escalators," but this is a false term.

Montgomery's newer escalators (1982-1994) are often known as "Twinkie M" because the company's M logo resembles Twinkies. These seem to carry on the basic design of the older Montgomery escalators, except for the landing plates. They do not have the same sound as the older escalators. This model was carried on by Montgomery KONE as the E-Series after 1994.
