Rodney Farrant

Son of an amateur jockey, Rodney Alan Farrant was born at Bristol on November 27, 1972, and rode his first winner, The Quohee, at Chepstow on February 17, 1990.

Starting out as an amateur, he eventually rode 205 winners.

He had the nickname 'Pigeon', and later turned to training.

His elder brother, Ashley, also rode as an amateur. Both brothers rode from an early age.

His biggest wins included the 1997 Queen Mother Champion Chase on Martha's Son and the 1995 Scottish Grand National on Wilsford.
