Robert Ferguson

Robert John Ferguson was born in Scotland on January 1, 1947, and became apprenticed to Harry Thomson Jones on 16 May 1963. He stayed at 80, All Saints Road, Newmarket.

His first winner was Demi Ordonne at Warwick on April 15, 1968.

He won the Vaux Gold Tankard in 1970 on Blind Harbour. He also won the Holmark Coin Handicap and the Green Shield Handicap.

A good journeyman jockey, his best season, numerically, came in 1969 when he won 20 races.

Robert was a keen angler.
