Frank Fitzgerald rode four winners under National Hunt rules in the early 1920s.

A comfortable victory by five lengths on Lady Charity in the Brampton Hurdle at Huntingdon on Easter Monday, April 17, 1922, gave him his first success. His second came on December 7 at Gatwick when Gay Scholar landed the Horsham Selling Hurdle by just a neck from Warwick, the mount of Isaac Morgan.

A walkover on Couch O’Leary in the Herontye Hurdle at Lingfield Park on February 28 got Frank off the mark for 1923, but he had only one more success that year, when Royal Bladud took the Selling Handicap Chase at Hawthorn Hill on March 20. It was the first time Frank had ridden the seven-year-old, who had done well to recover from having run twice in one afternoon at Wye just six days earlier.

Frank rode 10-1 chance Templebar in the 1923 Welsh Grand National at Cardiff but had no luck as the nine-year-old ran out. He did not renew his licence after 1924.
