A. Flint

On January 30, 1905, English jockey A Flint received severe injuries when falling from Oripeaux in the Prix de la Villes de Cannes.

Flint was clear of his field and about to win the race when, as he approached the judge's box, he turned to wave towards his wife and children.

This caused the horse to swerve, and Flint's head violently struck the winning post.

He was taken to Cannes hospital where he died later that evening.
