Brian Forsey

Brian Forsey, of Sunnyside, Crowcombe, Taunton, was born on 14 March, 1953, and had his first ride in a handicap hurdle at Taunton when aged 16.

He first came to the public's eye when riding a double at Taunton on September 7, 1970.

He was retained by Mrs E. Kennard.

Big races which came his way included the Joe Coral Handicap Hurdle and the Rank Challenge Cup, Fontwell.

Brian won over 100 races as both an amateur and professional.

He took a break from racing and studied Antique restoration and Fine Art valuation at Plymouth University before resuming training from his Ash Priors, Somerset establishment.

Brian's one ride in the National, Colondine, finished 15th in 1976.

Away from the saddle, he enjoyed a game of football and fishing.

Brian Forsey died of cancer on April 2, 2021, aged 68.
