Ward Stone is one handed, Ward Staff is two handed. They are ranged weapons. The stone can be off handed with a one handed weapon to be used like a palm shield, and makes it sort of a cross between sword and shield skills and warding skills.
Ultimate
Bubble Shield
Channeled Ability
Hold or toggle to immobilize yourself, and forcibly push enemies or teleport enemies to outside the bubble ignoring their immunity to forced movements.
The bubble prevents enemies from entering it or teleporting into it. Allies can pass through it at will.
The bubble intercepts ranged attacks made at those within it.
Enemy melees can still penetrate it, but you are at least 10 meters away from the edges so you are safe.
Enemy ground based area attacks can still be cast into it. It's not a negate magic. It doesn't erase or prevent ground based area attacks within it.
Things like Spear Shards or Caltrops or Scorch if Scorch reaches far enough.
Some ranged abilities that don't start outside the bubble may still be able to hit, such as Warden's animal Dive ability.
If it starts and passes through the dome, it is intercepted, otherwise if it starts inside the dome it will hit because it didn't attempt to pass through and therefore couldn't get intercepted.
Ranged abilities that start at the caster are denied, such as snipe or flameskull, as they are intercepted by the dome.
Pets may try to push into the dome, but they will run in place against the dome as they can't push into it.
Clanfear/Familiar, Bear, Shade, Blastbones, etc.

Protect
Link to an ally, granting them extra resistance from attacks, and granting them occasional damage shields.
Can be paired with Guard.
When used with a Mending Stone, can be paired with Mender's Bond.
Ward Ally
Dome of Protection
Allies within it take reduced damage and can activate a synergy to gain a damage shield. Ranged attacks against them are reduced further if it passes through the edge of the dome.
Similar to Siege Shield, but different internal effects (as above), and blue instead of gold.
Defend
Free
Change your light and heavy attacks to shielding abilities that target allies. Light attacks grant weak damage shields that last 6 seconds and can exist in up to 5 (prob 3) separately ticking instances. Or it expands the shield up to a certain threshold and refreshes the duration with each reapplication. Heavy attacks channel apply half as much shielding, but reduce their damage taken and prevents it from ticking down, maintaining maximum duration while the beam persists.
Pair with Warding Deliberation for best results.

May naturally grant self damage shields as well when granting allies damage shields this way.
May have a passive effect of, while no allies or pets or companions are near, decrease damage taken. That way it still has some effect when the user has no one and nothing to guard, all by their lonesome.
Greater Defend
Cast Time / Channel Ability with a cost
Version A: Buffs Defend for a duration to grant it better defensiveness, useful if your target is about to die. May have a penalty of immobilizing self while channeling the defend beam on an ally.
Version B: Cross Between Defend's Beam and Templar's Deathray. Similar cast time and cost to Templar's deathray, with a similar scaler granting it better shielding the lower the target's health. Targets ally and grants them a damage shield instead of targeting an enemy to deal damage. Might immobilize self while channeling.
Morphs: Heal ally also, or cleanse a negative effect from them each second. May think of other things later.

Passives
While a Ward Stone is equipped, bracing consumes magicka over time and increases armor and generates a damage shield over time up to a certain capacity, blocking costs magicka, block cost is reduced and block mitigation is increased. Heavy attacks generate a bit of magicka. While a Ward Staff or pair of Ward Stones are equipped, these effects are doubled.
While a Ward Stone is equipped, Fully Charged Heavy Attacks grants damage shields. While a Ward Staff or pair of Ward Stones are equipped, the shield is doubled, and it also grants half shield (equivalent to one stone's shield), to up to 4 nearby allies.
While a Ward Stone is equipped, increase the effectiveness of damage shields and their duration. This effect is doubled while a Ward Staff or pair of Ward Stones are equipped.
