Nevada’s Sesquicentennial, the 150th anniversary of Nevada’s admission to the Union, will provide opportunities for celebration and reflection as we come together statewide to commemorate our shared history and build a foundation of cultural appreciation for generations to come. Learn more at www.Nevada150.orgThe Development Services Center, located at 333 N. Rancho Drive, now features a large artwork, comprised of five colorful fiber sculptures by Las Vegas artist Cyd Bown, is entitled “Nephele.”

The artwork, composed of fabric, thread and steel, measures 30 feet by 8.5 feet by 24 feet. Nephele, which means “cloudy” in Greek, is an Art in Public Places project of the Las Vegas Arts Commission. The city of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Arts Commission Percent for the Arts Fund provided $60,000 toward the total cost of this artwork.
