Delivering Happiness Core Values

Post date: Apr 14, 2014 3:03:34 AM

    1. Our Core Values:Be true to your (weird) self. Live with passion and purpose.
    2. Think, say and do in harmony and in consideration of others.
    3. Communicate with honesty and respect.
    4. Have fun & think full. 50% air + 50% water = 100% full.
    5. Inspire & be inspired.
    6. Be humble, be grateful.
    7. Build community and meaningful relationships.
    8. Keep your heart + mind open and aligned. Keep growing and learning.
    9. Be like Macgyver & Bruce Lee. Do more with less, be creative and adventurous, and fluid like water.
    10. Create change in the world more than you ever thought possible.

You can create your own company core values by following these 10 Steps.

Step #1-The MOJO BAGS!

DECIDE IF YOU’RE COMMITTED to running with a values-based company.

I decide 11/11/11 I would wean myself off the idea MOJO Repairs, Routine Maintenance Inspections and Service, Improvements, Aquariums, Ponds and any other legal business in the State of NV HAD to be a wrap. I couldn’t take another multi- million dollar offer I worked 5 years to gain just to have to deny the opportunity because I didn’t get the culture right, hire the right people (including my “partners” now ex-brother and ex-husband). I knew it was IMPERATIVE to the success of my future to be part of a company that held REAL tight to a set of values that combated the 7 deadly sins.

    • This requires more patience with revenues and profits in order to lay the foundation.

We took the over 3 years time and did not go for the big I have mapped out for The MOJO Bags-i.e. United States Military, the Las Vegas strip, Wet n Wild

and 58 Billion dollars of global funding allocated to the roadmap to an #AIDS FREE GENERATION.

    • Make the decision sooner rather than later.

11.11.11-11.11.12 to start fresh while collecting and passionately working on the MOJO BAGS, I simultaneously did the labor work everything from routine maintenance inspections and service, painting, hanging Christmas Lights to cleaning fish aquariums, ponds and handling (NOT HANDLING WELL AT ALL) fountain repairs, and even without the ex’s I pushed forward. I extremely tired of being like Lucy in the Chocolate factory, killing myself for a company that was barely feeding my kids but trying to hang onto more offers and AMAZING clients then I could of ever dreamed for, still on the table, waiting and routing for me and MOJO Repairs to bring it.

Step #1-Downtown Las Vegas Community Culture

DECIDE IF YOU’RE COMMITTED to running WITH a values-based COMMUNITY???

This requires more patience with revenues and profits in order to lay the foundation.

Ya it does...I knew right away what the common ground denominator TEAM ZAPPOS would be, a set of core values that BEATS the HOUSE and the 7 deadly sins is to Las Vegas as the 7 days of week are to a month and NO ONE, FROM ANYWHERE, WITH or WITHOUT ANY religious thought can argue. I thought it would be easy because WE ALL KNOW HANDS DOWN, HANDS UP that TEAM ZAPPOS has PROVEN SCIENTIFIC BEHAVIORAL AND SOCIAL evidence based implementation strategies THAT WORK! I felt it necessary to gather a ridiculous amount of endless scientific based evidence (including even what the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) would say is true in fact a global blueprint to human happiness on an individual and community level.)

Make the decision sooner rather than later.

WTF WAS I THINKING RIGHT???? I did it because I had made a promise to take the Zappos Core Values to the street, then I took on like ridicle record setter shit I intend on playing the game with the intentions on winning worry about you, give a fuck about me.

Step #2

FIGURE OUT YOUR PERSONAL VALUES.

    • It’s surprisingly harder than you think.

I had to work real hard on choosing happiness as a conscious effort in 2005 my ex cheated on me after 14 years, 3 kids, a house, 2 dogs, 2 cars and 2 great family vacations a year. It was real hard and took a lot of self talk, research on the seven deadly sins (Dante's theories to History Channel) and a mantra “I CHOOSE HAPPINESS” which was also my standard answer when my peeps would ask how am I getting through. Large in part I had an overwhelming amount of support from my ex’s family who stepped up as my number 1 support and my call center team that was totally FAMILY.

    • Be honest with yourself.

Personally I use the 80/20 rule of thumb against the seven deadly sins as the definition right and wrong, mad and glad, happy and sad, grateful and ungrateful, lazy and productive, greedy and giving, I had to be honest with myself when I knew the marriage wouldn’t work and when I agreed to take the ex-huz back in an instant I literally sold my soul to the devil and it took 3 YEARS to get it back. To me its important that nobody has

I did not try using Tribal Leadership author Dave Logan’s “Mountains and Valleys” Core Values exercise to help define my personal core values because I hold tight to what the Feds say is right.

Step #3-THE MOJO BAGS

GET KEY PEOPLE’S PERSONAL VALUES.

Partners, managers, and/or influencers.

Step #4-THE MOJO BAGS!

COMBINE PEOPLE’S VALUES.

    • Don’t do this by committee – just 1 or 2 people.

I went back through

Step #4-Downtown Las Vegas Community

COMBINE PEOPLE’S VALUES.

    • Don’t do this by committee – just 1 or 2 people.

Step #5-THE MOJO BAGS!

ASK MANAGERS TO TEST VALUES AGAINST EMPLOYEES & EX-EMPLOYEES.

Step #5-Downtown Las Vegas Community

THE TEST OF VALUES AGAINST EMPLOYEES & EX-EMPLOYEES.

I’ve been working on a Downtown Las Vegas Community Core Values document, and the diversity of all of our people. Please take the time to read www.themojobags.com over and email me any suggestions, additions, subtractions, or other feedback In particular, great thought about and dedication to Tony Hseih. I think Tony represents not only the Zappos culture well, but also by living by above and beyondn document, as we will give the final version to all employees. It will be more or less permanent for all the future years of Zappos, so your input is very important. Please make sure you set aside the time to read and think about it.

Step #6-The MOJO Bags!

TEST YOUR COMMITMENT.

    • Are you willing to hire/fire people based on whether they fit your core values, even if an employee adds a lot of value in the short-term?

HELL YA and time is the test of my commitment. TIME DOWN ON THE GROUND living POVERTY

Step #6 Downtown Las Vegas Community

TEST YOUR COMMITMENT.

    • Are you willing to hire/fire people based on whether they fit your core values, even if an employee adds a lot of value in the short-term?

Step #7-THE MOJO BAGS!

SEND TO ENTIRE COMPANY, AND ASK FOR FEEDBACK.

This was easy, I am the entire company.

Step #7-Downtown Las Vegas Community

SEND TO ENTIRE COMPANY, AND ASK FOR FEEDBACK.

1. Intentionally defined culture should be linked to the mission and the values of the company- but they also have to be communicated, memorable and “lived”. This can provide the glue helping a company to sustain during the dynamic ups and downs of the start-up process. At IDEAN, culture is “lived”.

2. Culture is a “strategic” resource leading, invested in and central to growth and expansion. It is strategic, just like technology, brand, or people. At TicketCake, it is core to strategy.

For entrepreneurs starting new businesses, the tendency is to focus on developing the product, and working on the technology. But, culture needs investment and intentional creation just the same.

Step #8 THE MOJO BAGS!

COMBINE PEOPLE’S VALUES (again)

    • You can’t make everyone happy.
