He spins the globe, closes his eyes, and points.
The other boys peer at his finger seeing where he lands.
Nebraska.
Figures,
he never lands anywhere fun.
The rest of the boys take turns spinning the globe and seeing where their fingers land.
The first boy gets Kiribati, a tropical Pacific island.
Then, the blonde boy spins the globe and gets Germany.
The teacher calls everyone over.
“All right class, get back to work.”
He never has any of the fun.
He walks back to his desk,
feeling boring again.
