Mask On

Mask On

By Laiba Kalota

It’s almost been a year, the way we’ve been stuck like this

It’s like our time disappeared into some unknown abyss

Every day feels the same and the nights are when we reminisce

But we’re tired

It’s so draining; feels like my head’s on fire

There are all these hopes and dreams that one day I aspire

But how will I ever get there; it just feels like I’m caught in a crossfire

So I beg you, put your mask on

Don’t you want all this to be gone?

I’m tired of buying useless stuff straight off Amazon

So I beg you to put your mask on

There’s literally no cons

You should see my pain when the night hits dawn

Using anything and everything possible that I can dwell on

And everybody seems like they’re gone; nobody to count on
