TIMELINE OF THE RENOVATION WORKS

1. Mid-March - Submission of the Renovation Plan.

2. End-March - Finalization of the Plan / Start work!!!

3. From there, we discuss about the built-ins, fans, lights and other fixtures.

4. June School Holiday - Moving of Preschool & SuperTouch + Setup of the Happiness Haven!

DETAILS OF RENOVATION WORKS

*Refer to "RENOVATION & SETTING UP OF CENTER" also (below).

OVERALL

1. This will be built with "ALL-PURPOSE" in our mind.

2. Whatever the plan is, have to make sure everything we intended to do, will surely be passed by the DBKL.

3. No veranda nor balcony, extend them out!!!

Electricity & Air cons

4. To change from single phase to 3-Phase; can contact May the agent (she offered help).

5. Use cassette air-cons for halls. Rooms are to install individual air-cons. <-- AIR CONS: Start searching for sponsors / donors.

Water & Water Tank

6. To redo all the pipings.

7. To install a water tank at the top of the First Floor (have a flat roof top to place it).

Windows

8. Change all existing windows to sliding windows, except the upstairs, can be open-out type of glass windows + with thicker tint.

Wall Paint

9. Wall paint colour to go on light colours, it must look more like a house than a kindergarten.

Flooring

10. All will go on vinyl tiles, wood pattern, light colour; or something easy to take care.

GROUND FLOOR - OUTSIDE

Gate & Fencing

11. To have solid brick wall up.

12. If need be, can have a metal plate (golden / silver) or a glass plate, with the center's name and license number crafted, to be put up at the right side of the existing gate.

13. To have the signboard (if need be) on the left side of the existing gate.

14. Proposal: To have another gate for entry to the house; existing gate to be used for exit (esp. on raining days).

The Frontage

15. It must look like a house.

Awning

16. Ground floor to have front awning and side awning on the right (not on the left).

17. The awning must not be noisy when raining and it must be translucent.

Roofing

18. Proposal by Ah Seng: To remove the existing tiles, in order to look modern.

The right side of the House

19. To have a side door on the right side after extended.

20. To put up foam mat for playground; artificial grass is not advisable as it gets "rotten" and need to be changed after a few years.

Green House

21. To build a green house at the back area.

GROUND FLOOR - INSIDE

The Hall

22. Can keep 1 class downstairs - the younger age group, e.g. 4 years old that struggle going up / down the staircase.

23. This open space can be used for indoor play on raining days and for SuperTouch indoor activities.

Ceiling

24. Remove the existing ceiling.

Sliding Doors

25. To have them tinted blue.

Office

26. It will be setup as a friendly place; comfortable for parents.

27. No office table; but with sofa and coffee table.

28. Set it up as Auntie Clarine's counseling room in Nobel.

Kitchen

29. To have fridge, oven, microwave and stove.

Stage

30. To have a stage at the back of the House.

31. This is for morning assembly and PowerFun Character Transformation!

Aluminium Tables

32. For Science and Domestic Science activities, outside the kitchen area.

33. Tables to have wheels.

Toilets

34. To have it extended, can do as Maryanne's school.

35. Make sure there are more toilet bowls.

Staircase / Storeroom

36. Smoothen it and paint it white.

37. Make a sliding door storeroom under the staircase.

38. Seal the windows at the staircase.

39. Have a small gate at the 1st floor.

FIRST FLOOR

Inside the Hall

40. To have a cubby shelving unit for sleeping bags.

The Indent Space

41. Re-seal the windows, where we wanted the stage there earlier on.

42. Setup wall shelves, bottom part can be for children's books, top part can be for teacher's books.

43. One part of the shelves can be for Science apparatus.

Ceiling

44. Might not take down the existing but just add on plaster ceiling to make it look good.

The Room near to the existing Front Balcony

45. To have computers setup there in row(s) just as the Preschool right now.

46. To have an emergency staircase down to the left side of the House.

The Bigger Room near to the Toilet

47. The put foam mats on wall for SuperTouch physical development activities.

The Smaller Room

48. For children not ready for Open Classroom; a quiet, enclosed place for children who feel unsecured with crowd.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Who can register?

• In 2021, every child has to be interviewed, even the contributing ones.

• Pointers to note:- The distance (if it nearer to Kepong, has to go to GloryKids)- Only 3 classes will be opened, once full - refer them to GloryKids

2. How much to collect?

• Based on the setting / pointers mentioned above, we can decide on our school fees, it can be lower than GloryKids.

3. What will Kala's work scope be like? Can she be involved her in Daycare?

• We will go one step at a time, to be decided later.

APPLICATION OF LICENSE

"Pusat Jagaan Yayasan Jinjang Cemerlang"

• To decide on the name, do not want name with "Jinjang", this is for future expansion to other areas.

• Suggested names:
  - Pusat Jagaan Yayasan Cemerlang / Gemilang <-- ALL TAKEN
  

1. DONE! Visit to JKM to verify our eligibility as a Foundation to start a care center.

2. DONE! Get the letters from them for the other 3 departments, namely KKM, Bomba & DBKL.

3. Getting the place ready / Renovation

4. Submit the letters to the respective departments and get related forms filled up.
   - Submitted to DBKL (Call them to come once the place is ready)

5. Inspection by the departments / authorities.

6. Do up a folio with the supporting letters from them.

7. Submit the folio with a payment of RM50.

8. Get the LICENSE!

TIMING & MANPOWER (PROPOSED)

1. 09.00am - 01.00pm Preschool

2. 01.00pm - 03.00pm After-school Program / Priscilla & Poh Ling break for lunch to get ready for Tutorial Services

*For teachers having lunch with children, they will have 1/2 hour during the school hours as their break time.

3. 02.00pm - 04.00pm SuperTouch

4. 03.00pm - 06.00pm Daycare

*Every Monday - Gathers for Devotion @3.30pm, Hospitality Room, after putting the daycare children to sleep.

*Joanne Chuan - can be assigned to teach online with the second set teachers, or physical school online.

THE PROGRAMS

• No uniforms for this center, but we will have activity outfit to be worn on a certain day (e.g. Friday - PowerFun Day), and it is good for identification during field trips.

Preschool Education

• Open 4, 5 and 6 years old class, one each.

After-school Program

• Bring in the ASP program, but do not run it as sophisticated, not "full force" / full fledge.

• Run it like PowerFun Time (large group activities).

• No cooking classes etc.

• This is to spare the manpower for Tutorial Services.

Daycare Services

• It is by interview.

SuperTouch

• To have the children integrated to the After-school Program.

RENOVATION & SETTING UP OF CENTER

*Have to get a few quotations; to go by tender as the amount is high for this project.

*Have Prema to tell the needs but Angeline to go in to advise.

Carpentry / Masonry

• Change the frontage of the building; move out the frontage, do not want just the two doors.

• Do the flooring to have a clean look (vinyl tiles), except the marble floor.

• Do up the downstairs' ceiling with ceiling boards.

• Break the wall of the kitchen; have the kitchen outside instead.

• Put up a "wall" (concrete / standing seam) at the back of the center?

• Open a back gate for cars to pass through esp. raining days?

Electrical

• Change to 3 phase.

Painting

• Paint all white first.

Plumbing

• Redo the toilets, not enough to be used.

Furniture, Fixtures & Fittings

• Do up an emergency staircase.

• Put up a side canopy for outdoor play.

• Lay a grass carpet on the side?

• Put up a front canopy for raining days.

• Add water tanks.

• Emergency exits & lights.

• Putting up fire extinguishers.

Setting-up of Center

• See any furniture to be / can be moved over to the new school; to be used / stored there.

• Setup certain rooms e.g. kitchen that we can setup first, do not wait till December.
