Does our Foundation represent an organism or an organization? Hopefully, we will have answered organism.
An organism is an entity that lives and breathes on its own. It’s health and ability to survive depends on the how well the organs (departments) are working.
The tendency of humans in this day is to exercise to keep in shape in order to meet the challenges of life. Our Foundation must do the same thing. We must constantly keep exercising our muscles and organs. This means assessing which parts of the organization are working well and those that are not adequately performing.
Look at each individual in our group as a cell and look at our department as an organ. If one individual cell disappears, we can probably live with that. But if that cell becomes disenchanted and decides to rebel and recruit other cells, we now have the beginning of a cancer.
If we can identify the non-performers early on and give them skills and tools to turn things around, we will have limited the potential for disease. If we do nothing and let things go unchecked, then every part of the Foundation starts to suffer. When this happens and it spreads to the clients, we could be entering a terminal state.
An organization is only as good as the collective effort of all employees. If every employee is properly matched to the job, given the right tools, and is highly motivated to succeed, we have a vibrant and strong organism. It becomes a life that is breathing, healthy and hard to take down.
So, what’s the state of our organism? If we think our company is not as vibrant as it should be, what’s our prognosis and prescription?
Body - Surroundings
Soul - System
Spirit - Spirituality
Just as the total well-being of a person is important; the surroundings, system and spirituality dimensions of the Foundation are important for it to continue to grow and be productive!
In the month of June, when a team of us returned to work in physical, we started by spending quality devotion time with worship and prayer in the mornings, to get our staff to have the right heart and mind to work. As the dimension of "spirituality" was the number one emphasis, some of the wrong and bad attitudes displayed in the workplace were being pointed out and corrected. Thank God for teachable staff, from there the staff have grown by leaps and bounds.
At the same time, with the guidance from our Founder, we took time to get rid of the old things and things that will no longer be in used in the near future. From there we had The Big Move, to right-size the number of lots to what we need in view of the future development; besides giving the surroundings a facelift and creating a brand new experience for everyone.
As other team members returned from FunGates HQ and their unpaid leave, we have looked into the work performance and self-discipline of staff (e.g. their attendance and punctuality) by giving rewards and relevant trainings. We have also improved and implemented new policy and procedures about handling of keys, handphones in workplace and so on.
Recently, all of us in the New Team, have gone through and committed ourselves once again to the Culture of FunGates Organizations!

Just as the t-shirts that we wear, we move from Small, to Medium and then to Large-sized as we grow; similarly, we grow from being a Shepherd, to be a Majordomo* and then to be a Leader. This is only healthy!

MAKE A DIAGNOSIS ~
1. FORMING > 2. STORMING > 3. NORMING > 4. PERFORMING > 5. TRANSFORMING?!
Without strict management either by the staff himself/herself or from the superior, at the beginning stage, there is NO WAY to arrive at self-management, at the later stage.
