Art with a Point

It was in Gravelines, during a stay in 1890 where Georges-Pierre Seurat completed one of his last paintings, a view of the harbour at 'Petit Fort Philippe'. He died from heart disease and pneumonia only a year later at the age of 31.

The painting is a fine example of the 'Pointillist' technique and is currently hanging in the 'Indianapolis Museum of Modern Art'.
