This is one of Cassel's main annual events.

The focus is naturally on Bagpipes (Cornemuse (FR) Doedlezak (VL)), which are represented in all their varieties, but the music also extends to all things folky.

There are traditional dances on the top of the hill, an instrument market in the square and various organised or impromptu concerts in the Cafes and surrounding streets.

The basic format is as below:

Friday evening - Various concerts in several of Cassel's Cafes.

Saturday daytime - Musical instrument and record market in the square.

Saturday evening - Various concerts in several of Cassel's Cafes plus a Bal Folk to round off the evening

Sunday - This is the main event, with the musical instrument and record market and numerous live outdoor concerts and dances.
