A small port just to the west of Dunkerque which can be seen as you make the final approach to the ferry port.
There are plenty of restaurants packed around the centre, and a couple of bars to take an aperitif.
The beach is large and sandy, and a long pier alongside the mouth of the river 'Aa' provides a perfect after lunch walk. The Nuclear Power station can be seen to the right, which adds a bit of industrial chic to the view.
Across on the other side of the river is Grand Fort Philippe, which has far less to offer in the way of restaurants, but does have an excellent fish shop selling direct from the port building. There is also an amusingly named hairdresser's 'Fanny Coiffure'!
