French Flanders is home to some of the prettiest towns and villages in Northern France. Many of their names reflect the strong Flemish character as does the architecture found within them.
The mentality of the inhabitants is also distinct from what is found further to the west in Pas de Calais. Their straightforwardness and desire to enjoy life in one of the numerous Estaminets is all part of this.
