Bailleul (Belle)

Bailleul (Belle) lies just inside France and walking distance to Belgian Flanders.

The center of town is interesting enough to spend a couple of hours wandering around. The large romano-byzantine style church has some fine stained glass windows depicting the history of Bailleu, and the facing 'Chateau d'Eau' is one of the most impressive water towers you will see.

The town is blessed with several good shops which makes it a great place to stock up for your holiday or for your return journey.

The small Thursday evening market on the forecourt of the station is worth a visit as is the much larger weekly market in the centre on Tuesday mornings.
