One of the many fabled rings of fantasy legend, the “genie” ring is most useful indeed, for it is a special “gate” by means of which a certain djinni can be summoned from the Elemental Plane of Air. 

When the ring is rubbed, the summons is served, and the djinni will appear on the next round. 

The djinni will faithfully obey and serve the wearer of the ring, but if the servant of the ring is ever killed, the ring becomes non-magical and worthless.
