A pair of these magical wings appears to be nothing more than a plain cloak of old, black cloth. 

If the wearer speaks a command word, the cloak will turn into a pair of gigantic bat wings (20-ft span) and empower the wearer to fly as follows:

— 2 turns at 32" speed

— 4 turns at 18" speed

— 8 turns at 12" speed

Combinations are possible at the ratio above. 

After the maximum number of possible turns flying, the wearer must rest for 1 hour—sitting, lying down, or sleeping. 

Shorter periods of flight do not require full rest, but only relative quiet such as slow walking for 1 hour. 

Any flying of less than 1 turn duration does not require any rest. 

Note that regardless of the length of time spent flying the wings can be used but once per day. 

They will support up to 500 pounds weight.
