Fusion 360 is a cloud-based 3D modeling, CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB software platform for product design and manufacturing. Fusion 360 is developed and marketed by Autodesk for 3D design & modeling, manufacturing, electronics, simulation and generative Design. Fusion 360 features allow users to model in 3D space, and use integrated CAD and CAM software, along with seamless PCB design software, and auto drafting of 2D drawings based on your 3D models. Simulations put designs to the test before fabrication, highlighting areas to improve. Fusion 360 is available through CAEN to select students and faculty, or can be downloaded for free by students and educators through Autodesk's educational licensing program for 1 year, which may be renewed at no cost as long as eligible. It has a moderate learning curve, but knowing that basics can take you far. You will want to familiarize yourself with these through the LinkedIn Learning essential training before embarking on your first project. Autodesk also has a large user guide with helpful explanations of all the tools and their settings.
