Gallery

Welcome

Our 2600-square-foot gallery provides an exhibition venue for a wide range of creative work. The exhibits can be 2- or 3-dimensional, and may include fine art, technology-based displays, performance art and more. Artifacts can be free standing, placed on pedestals (which we provide), or hung on the walls and we have the resources to make it all happen.

Hanging

The Gallery walls are 10 feet high and offer 100 linear feet of hanging space. The walls are lined with fabric-covered, sound dampening material that is similar to a bulletin board, allowing light weight pieces to be pinned directly to the wall.

We have a classic track and rod system with adjustable hooks for hanging framed work and heavier pieces.

Additionally, we use airline cable with adjustable hardware to hang artifacts from the ceiling Unistrut system. The Unistrut is 10 feet from the floor and can hold a significant amount of weight,  spaced appropriately.

Pedestals

We have pedestals in a range of sizes available for displaying 3-dimensional pieces. Sizes include:

5 – 24 length x 24 width x 42 height

5 – 17 x 17 x 42

4 – 48 x 24 x 80 often used as additional hanging surface

2 – 59 x 22.75 x 32.5 with lockable glass display tops

Small pedestals

2 - 14 x 14 x 16

2 - 14 x 14 x 20

All measurements are in inches.

A limited number of tables, chairs and easels are available with advance notice.

Lighting

We have a LED track lighting system with dimming capability. The fixtures can be moved along the track for increased lighting options. There is also indirect fluorescent lighting around the perimeter of the room and natural lighting through the front glass wall.

Sound & Technology

The gallery has a sound system and 2 microphones for use during events. The floor has power and networking outlets every 10 feet and there are 12 additional power outlets on the base of the surrounding walls.

The Gallery has 5 Mac computers with monitors for use during exhibitions. A limited number of additional computers, large monitors and projection equipment may be available with advance notice.

Security & Staffing

Student Staff monitor the Gallery during open hours, noon to 6:00 pm, Tuesday – Friday, and Sunday. The gallery is closed on Saturday and Monday.

The Gallery is locked during off hours, with an alarm security system that can be armed. While onsite, exhibits are covered by a blanket university insurance policy.
