Blender is a free, open source 3D modeling and animating application. It supports the entirety of the 3D creation pipeline including motion tracking, rendering, compositing and 2D animation. Many extensions and add ons are available on the web, both paid and free, to customize user experience and adjust the interface. Blender is available on both the Mac and Windows OS in Groundworks and flexible for both simple projects or full fledged animation. It has a moderate learning curve, as the interface is not highly intuitive, but knowing the basics can take you far. You will want to familiarize yourself with these through the LinkedIn Learning essential training before embarking on your first project. Blender also has a database of helpful project guides and instructional videos on their website ranging from beginner to advanced.
