The Fabrication Underground is furnished with work surfaces and hand tools to support the needs of basic woodworking and metalworking projects. Four hardwood work surfaces with a high load capacity are located in the space, one of which is lower for easy accessibility.
The Workbenches in the Fabrication Underground are equipped with a variety of hand powered tools. When used properly, a hand powered tool can be quite effective, safe, and easy to use.

Measuring devices – Dial Calipers, Measuring Tape, Squares
Hand powered tools – Wood Chisels, Wrenches, Files, Hammers, Saws, Pliers, Utility Knives, Wire Strippers, Screw Drivers, and Wood Drill.
The Workbenches are available to faculty, students, and staff for academic, project, and personal use.
The Workbench is available to certified users by reservation only. To reserve a Workbench, check the Reservation Calendar for workbench availability and reserve your spot via the Reservation Request Form. We will respond with a confirmation as soon as possible.
