3DP-TIPS: 3D Printing Training & Instructional Printing Support
The Fabrication Underground offers several 3D printers available for reservation by faculty, instructors, and student advisors to support classroom instruction. Our 3DP-TIPS service stands out because it provides students with a hands-on experience with the technology. Upon completing the required online training, students receive a 'Certificate of Completion' in PDF format, which can be easily submitted for assignments. The training materials are accessible through our Equipment Certification Canvas course, open to everyone.
3D Printer Available:
Entry Level 3D Printing
Prusa MK 4: The Prusa MK 4 desktop fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printer is an easy-to-learn, simple-to-use, cost-effective solution, ideal for beginners. Students operate the Prusa MK 4 3D printers themselves, but before doing so, they learn machine operations and how to 'slice' their 3D computer model using Prusa-Slicer, covered in our Canvas course.
