3DP-TIPS: 3D Printing Training & Instructional Printing Support
The Fabrication Underground offers several 3D printers available for reservation by faculty, instructors, and student advisors to support classroom instruction. Our 3DP-TIPS service stands out because it provides students with a hands-on experience with the technology. Upon completing the required online training, students receive a 'Certificate of Completion' in PDF format, which can be easily submitted for assignments. The training materials are accessible through our Equipment Certification Canvas course, open to everyone.
3D Printer Available:
Entry Level 3D Printing
Prusa MK 4s: The Prusa MK 4s desktop fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printer is an easy-to-learn, simple-to-use, cost-effective solution, ideal for beginners. Students operate the Prusa MK 4s 3D printers themselves, but before doing so, they learn machine operations and how to 'slice' their 3D computer model using Prusa-Slicer, covered in our Canvas course.
