Lightroom is part of the Adobe Creative Suite available for free to every student at the University of Michigan. Lightroom operates as a photo editing and organizing software, making a variety of Photoshop's capability more intuitive and user friendly. There are also a variety of plugins available which include customs presets and filters. Lightroom can be used for simple cropping and color correction all the way to professional image editing. The tools themselves are fairly intuitive, but some of the interface and the image organizing systems have a small learning curve. We recommend you familiarize yourself with these through the LinkedIn Learning essential training for the best experience with the application. Lightroom also includes some in-app tutorials to help you navigate and explore the tools available.
