J850 Polyjet 3D Printer
The J850 is a high resolution 3D printer capable of producing rigid acrylic based color models or print in a rubber like material called Agilus 30 in various harnesses from Shore-A 40 to Shore-A 95. The J850 can produce parts containing thousands of colors at a nearly imperceivable layer resolution of 27 Micron for highly realistic prototypes. Accuracy is within 20-85 microns for features below 50 mm; up to 200 microns for larger model sizes.

Understanding the Technology
PolyJet 3D printing technology uses photopolymers that are jetted onto a build tray in very small droplets and immediately cured with ultraviolet light to build a 3D printed part. Polyjet printing allows for complex shapes, intricate details, delicate features and a high-level realism. The J850 can digitally blend 2 or more materials to obtain an array of features like soft touch over-molding, a full range of color, and even clear and transparent gradients in a single printed part.
Unlike filament based 3D printers, parts printed on the J850 are solid and contain no voids. By default, the support material is only placed where it is needed, on downward facing surfaces. There is no self-supporting angle; any overhanging geometry will require support. Unless a matte finish is selected, areas of a model that face upward will have a high gloss surface finish and areas that face downward, which have been in contact with the support material, will have a matte surface finish.

The current material palette includes Cyan, Yellow & Magenta Vero rigid opaque, Agilus30 flexible and VeroClear transparent. Digital blending of the material pallet allows for clear parts, flexible parts, color parts, or a combination of these properties.
