collage print 

Artist statement:

For this project we had to make collages, make screen prints, then use then dark room to make full photos. To make the collages we had to go through magazines and cut out photos, making collages that meant something to us. As I went through magazines I found a few things that meant something to me, but i ended up making collages that I tried to give good complexion rather than a collage of things I like and want. 

The way I made my photo was i scanned my collage, and then used a screen print with the negatives to make a photo in the dark room. For both photos I used different amounts of times, the one on the left being lit up for 4 seconds and the right for 5 seconds. I also used matt paper for both because I find it to be more appealing for collages like this.

I think that my photos came out good, having god complection and use of space. I also like the use of motion in the one on the left. One thing I dont like about my photos however is that they both camer out very dark. I felt like my test strips did a good job showing me the color, but I must have made an error in between developing them and making the final photo becasue they came out much darker then intended. I also think I could have used a contrast filter. Another thing about my photos that I like is how the one on the right is flipped. I think it adds interest to the photo and makes you think.
