upside down earth

For this project I choose a prompt to make a picture after, and the one I choose was a world planet where people walk upside down. at first I thought about drawing people that walked with there hands, but I thought that that wouldn't come out right, so i thought it would be cool to draw something more unique, and then I got the idea to draw a planet that was inverted, like living on the inside of a sphere. The picture is kind of reminiscent of the movie inception, but it was never a reference or direct inspiration

for this picture I used normal drawing paper and pencil. this picture felt more like a sketch than anything else, but i don't mind it. I wanted to go back over with something like pen or ink, but I felt like I had already added to many details with the pencil to go back, so i commited. looking back I wish that i used a ruler to make more straight lines, and maybe more guidelines before jumping into detail.

My process for this picture was to really just go for it. I did not have a real idea of what aI wanted and struggled to get it on paper. I originally wanted to have people somewhere in the picture, but i could not find a way to fit them into the strange perspective. I consider this picture a warm up for the year and that is kind of what i went into it with in mind. I had not drawn in awhile and really needed to just try drawing something. In the end I started to get frustrated because it was not going how i wanted it, so it definitely got more sloppy as I went, but I still think the finished product is okay and a good start.
