Independent Study #3

City Street

Bristol paper, Tape, Sketch pencil, Fine Point Pen

9 x 12

Artist Statement:

The main Idea of my work was to complete a series of art works I was doing, using 3 point perspective. I wanted to make this one in 3 point perspective so it had a different feel then my other Independent Studies, and experiment with similar scenes can be viewed in so many different ways. I also had the idea to add more trees to make this one have more individuality.

My art piece was made the same as my other tow, with bristol paper and fine tip pen. I also used a ruler, sketch pencil, and tyape to make a sketch to base my work on. I also used a reference loosely, but changed it as I went to fit what I wanted to make.

The process started with me finding a reference, sketching a rough piece, then free hand going over it. I also needed tow point of perspective to be of the paper, which required me to make flaps out of tape connected to the paper so that I had points of perspective in the same place. I then went over my fine tip finished piece with eraser to get rid of all pencil marks.
